CHICAGO — A new monthly bill has been introduced in Springfield to make so-known as “ghost guns” illegal, aiming to crack down on a mainly unregulated industry.
The legislation would make it illegal to own a gun with out a corresponding serial quantity, which ghost guns do not have.
The transfer, obtain, manufacture, importation and possession of ghost guns unlawful, charging a misdemeanor for the initial offense and a felony for a 2nd offense.

Point out Agent Kam Buckner is spearheading the attempts to pass the legislation, noting that ghost gun kits are unregulated, low-cost and intentionally untraceable.

Legislators hope the bill passes with bipartisan guidance by the finish of the existing session on April 8. Exceptions are carved out in the laws for federal gun dealers and gun lovers.
