A street in Rotherham may be offering some of the cheapest home buying options in the whole of Yorkshire right now
Doe Quarry Terrace in Dinnington has seen houses listed for between £30,000 and £40,000 in the last 5 years. The most recent house in the street was listed in August 2021 for just £30,000 and its sale was finalised in February this year for just £40,000.
The house, a 3 bedroom end of terrace house was sold at auction. An archived listing of the house on property website Zoopla shows the interior may have required significant work, as all the walls had smudged and chipped paint. However, the images do not show any massive structural damage.

Another house, just next to that property was sold for a bargain £32,000 in January last year, before being resold two months later for £44,000, giving a whooping profit of £12,000 or 38 per cent. That house, a 2-bedroom terrace house was sold via the same auction method.
The images on archived listing show the house was in an acceptable and liveable shape, and appears to have undergone renovation after being bought in a run down state in 2015 for just £28,500. Another home in the same street was initially bought in 2013 for £30,000 and has since been sold twice, and the latest sale for £45,000 and a £6,000 or 15 per cent profit.
But the biggest bargain is probably the house that was bought for £15,500 in 2021 and sold a month later for £16,000. That house was then sold for £46,000 and a £30,000 or 188 per cent profit. Another property was also sold twice but for a loss, and was not sold on auction.
The street also does not appear to have out-of-control crime. Crime data on Police.UK website shows that there were 2 recorded sexual offences in February and 1 public order offence on Doe Quarry Lane, which is just a road away, but no crimes on Doe Quarry Terrace itself. For first time property buyers, this street may offer the cheapest bargains on homes.
