Pandu does not make tall claims it stays true to the essence of Dada Kondke’s movies, with one sole function – that of entertaining the masses. And who improved to do that than two of the most effectively identified comedians from the field?
Bhau Kadam and Kushal Badrike crew up for this comedy, producing it the initially time for the two to be performing together on the significant screen. The movie commences with the Bhau (Pandu) and Kushal (Mhadu) carrying out at a programme in honour of politician Babasaheb Pathare (Pravin Tarde). Joyful with their efficiency, Babasaheb fulfils their want of executing a occupation for livelihood and receives them inducted as Hawaldars in the Mumbai police power. What follows is a comedy of mistakes, twists and turns, and a hatke climax.
Comedy with double meaning jokes is a challenging place. It wants to have just the appropriate balance a small significantly less can make it drab, and a very little much more can make it crass. Director Viju Mane manages to strike a harmony, making you chortle with just the ideal tadka.
The performing office is comprehensive of recognised names and they deliver what’s anticipated of them. Everyone else in location of Bhau Kadam for this role may possibly not have strike the mark, but the ace comedian nails each and every punch line when retaining a certain degree of innocence. Kushal as Mhadu is the excellent companion to Bhau’s Pandu and provides an equally excellent general performance. Neither of these two overpowers just about every other. Sonalee appears lovely no question, and she also receives to pack a punch (actually) as Usha. The actress’s section is pivotal to Pandu’s plot. Pravin Tarde instructions the display as Babasaheb Pathare whilst Prajakta Mali emerges as a shock offer in this equation as Babasaheb’s daughter.
As entertaining as Pandu’s very first 50 % is, the film loses tempo in the next 50 percent. Although the climax earns some brownie points, the film does not make a entire turnaround. There are some supporting characters extra for comedian aid, but doing away with some of them would not really have built a lot of a variation. Hemangi Kavi, for instance, doesn’t have much to do moreover creating Mhadu’s married daily life, nor does Shahbaz Khan.
All claimed and accomplished, Bhau Kadam and Kushal Badrike’s camaraderie is the emphasize of the film. That’s also what most folks would go to observe the film for. The two really don’t disappoint. The exact same cannot be stated about the film as a complete though.
